New Information

As of February 29, 2012, all renewals received by mail have been processed.  In the event you did not get your

renewal notice last November, please contact Sherren Hubert at 928-854-4500 to renew.  You can take care of

either renewing or joining the club on Saturday and Sunday at the club and any time at R-Guns.

Range improvements will be continuing throughout the year so, if your shooting time is interrupted, we thank you for your patience.

I have been told that there is a second IPSC match that will be held on the 2nd Saturday of the month as well as a Steel Match that will

be on the last Sunday of the month.

I think it's clear that I have nothing more to say, if there are any upcoming events that anyone wants on the site

please let me know.

June 18,2010:  Attention all Cowboy Shooters.  There is a new schedule for the summer shootin' season.

The matches will be held on the 2nd and 4th Saturday's of the month.

Set up will start at 5:30 AM and, hopefully, the match will start at 6:00AM.  his new schedule is for the summer months only and is set up to take advantage of whatever little bit of cooler weather is available!!!

We just finished sending out e-mails to all the members advising them of the new web site.
Out of 602 members we have 364 with good e-mail addresses.
Numerous came back with unknown address, mail box full, or refused (spam filter).
The numbers include members without an e-mail address.

If you did not get the e-mail and are reading this because you came from a search
engine, an old bookmark or your friend told you about the site, please send the club and e-mail
with your correct e-mail address. If you moved or changed your mailing address please send
us the new address. The 2010 ballots and membership renewals will be mailed out in Nov.
When in doubt just send your new address. Just click the above newsletter address, this
should open your mail program. If your e-mail program does not open, send message to membership@havasusportsman.com. Subject, New mailing or email address.
In body of message list your name and new addresses.  Sherren will receive the message.
Remember the Club does not give out or sell our list of members or e-mail addresses to
anyone, they are for Club Use Only. hl

During the Club meeting Tues. Sept. 1, 2009 the Board approved
a draft version of the Club bylaws. A copy is on the Club web site
so members can make suggestions and comments. A final
version will be placed on the 2010 ballot. Positions for the 2010
Board of Directors are now open. See the web site under 2010 Election.
The Board approved keeping the 2010 dues the same low $60.00
fee as this year. A new membership form will be sent out with the
ballots in Nov. The Club has started a discussion on a new
set of Range Rules.

8/30/2009: Don't Forget, Business/Board Meeting is this Tuesday September
1st at 6:30 pm at the range house. All members are invited and encouraged to attend.
If there are any suggestions that you want to make, the meeting is the place to do it. See You All There!!!

8/21/2009 Suggestions - This is a new site and we need advice like is the type font to small. You
will notice that the width is very narrow so that it shows ok on small screens. If your screen
skips showing only one word on the next line please advise us. If you have a hard time reading
go to the bottom right of you computer screen and click on the 100% button, it will increase the
size up to 400%. Due to virus problems we will not use the newsletter to go to link to unknown
sites. hl

8/21/2009 Range Officers - Please listen to the advice of the Range Officers, they are non paid
members of the club who give their time for the safety of the shooters and spectators.  On
Sat. and Sun. we have open shooting and some of the shooters Do Not have any safety
training or even common sense. It is the responsibility of all shooters to tell another
shooter if they see a safety violation. The person they shoot might be you! hl

8/20/2009 Front Gate - After you open the front gate secure it by hooking the chain over the
hook on the post. We had to buy a new gate last year because the wind blew the gate into a
vehicle. Secure the gate behind you unless it is to be left open for a match. Members should
all have the combination. Do Not leave the pad lock in a unlocked position because it will
show the combination. After locking the lock turn the tumblers more than one number.
The small chain is to prevent damage and loss of the lock not for securing the gate. If you
find the gate unlocked Do Not lock it unless you check all the ranges to be sure no one is
on the facility like the police range or construction workers. hl

8/18/2009 Thanks to a suggestion from Steve McLaughlin I changed some pages so when you
click on a site that takes you to another site, the page will open in a new window. This will allow
the user to click on the new window while keeping open the original web page. You can then close
this page and our site will still be open. This will only be done on sites to remote locations because
they do not have a back button. hl aka webmaster

8/18/2009  A new Club web site is now up and running. The site is not complete but when it is
finished is will be kept very simple so it comes up fast. Sites with a lot of animated icons and
music my be
nice to look at the first couple of times but they make the pages to slow. We will
be using a lot of links from other members sites, so the information can be up to date without
waiting for the webmaster.
Please leave your comments or suggestions by sending an e-mail
to webmaster@havasusportsman.com
Sherren at rguns will be the online newsletter editor.
