New Information
May 12, 2010: Club Member Bill McMillen has informed us that he will be oiling the road to the range on Friday morning starting at 9:30
he will oil down one side and then the other. It should take 20 minutes to dry so, please be patient.
April 30, 2010: This was a great article and picture of the youth shotgun standings and awards but the darned picture
and article from the paper would not load. Still working on it. Sorry

Remember, this Tuesday, April 6th is the monthly Board/General meeting. It's at 6:30 at the club house. Any and all members

We have just received news of the passing of Captain Jim Ocker. Jim was a life memberof the club and an active menber of the USPSA and an all around good guy. We miss you already Jim
March 19,.2010: The annual LHCPD Top Gun Competition will be held on Saturday, April 10th. It's an annual family get together for
Havasu's Finest and their families.
NOTICE: There was a problem with the software so, if you are a Life Member and didn't receive your 2010
membership card, call Sherren at 854-4500
January 12, 2010
The membership cards have been mailed to all members who have paid their 2010 dues. Remember, the combination to the
gate lock changes February 1, 2010. If you have not as yet paid, you can renew your membership at the Club House
or at R-Guns.
12/10/2009: The 2010 membership cards are now printed. They will be mailed out the first of the year but, if you
want to save the club mailing costs, drop by R-Guns or the Club House and pick up your new card. Remember
the combination changes February 1, 2010. sh
12-3-2009 The membership approved the new bylaws at the Annual Club and Board meeting on Tuesday 12-1-09.
The new Board was also elected. See the web page under 2010 election. The new Board officers will not be
selected until the Jan meeting. The Annual Left Out of Rio USPSA/IPSC pistol match on Nov. 21 & 21 was a complete success.
We had 112 shooters many were from out of state. This match and the recent shotgun match are not only good for
the Club but good for the City economy. hl
11-16-2009 The Pistol and Rifle ranges will all be closed on
Nov. 21 & 22 due to a major 2 day USPSA/IPSC
pistol match. We have over 100
shooters taking part in the match. Starts at 9:00 AM. Come out and watch. hl
11-4-2009 The Ballots, New bylaws and the 2010 Membership
application were mailed to all the members.
If you did not receive your
letter it is possible you have a bad address listed in our data base.
To
make corrections send an e-mail to

Please fill out and sign the complete application so we can
update the data base. The last time we tried
to send out an e-mail notice
over 100 came back with bad addresses. We have over 625 members in the
data
base and it is very easy to make a typing error. hl
10-8-2009 At the Club meeting on Tues. 10-6-09 the
Board approved the new Bylaws and new Range and
Safety Rules. The Bylaws will be placed on the Dec. ballot.
The Ranges rules are now in effect. They are posted on the
Club web site. The Board approved placing
another porta-potty
at the 100 yard rifle range.
Membership is now
open for
new members. If you join the Club now you only pay the($60.00)
2010 dues. The remainder of this year is free. New bylaw rules apply.
New members must appear in person.

the Clubhouse.
Agenda: Approve the final version of the 2010 bylaws. Election cost.
Discussion and approval of new range rules. This is an open meeting
which allows input from the members prior to a vote by the Board. hl
We
have just been informed that the Sniper Craft competition scheduled for October
has been
cancelled due to budget constraints on the parts of the participants.
Hopefully next year will be
better financially for them
since our range is something of which we are rightly proud and
sharing it with
others is truly a pleasure. SH

We just finished sending out e-mails to all the members advising them of the new
web site.
Out of 602 members we have 364 with good e-mail addresses.
Numerous came back with unknown address, mail box full, or refused (spam
filter).
The numbers include members without an e-mail address.
If you
did not get the e-mail and are reading this because you came from a search
engine, an old bookmark or your friend told you about the site, please send the
club and e-mail
with your correct e-mail address. If you moved or changed your mailing address
please send
us the new address.
The 2010 ballots and membership renewals will be mailed out in Nov.
When in
doubt just send your new address.
Just click the above newsletter address, this
should open your mail program. If
your e-mail program does not open,
send message to membership@havasusportsman.com. Subject, New mailing or email
address.
In body of message list your name and new addresses. Sherren will receive the
message.
Remember the Club does not give out or sell our list of members or e-mail
addresses to

9-5-2009
During the Club meeting Tues. Sept. 1, 2009 the Board
approved
a draft version of the Club bylaws. A copy is on the Club web site
so members can make suggestions and comments. A final
version will be placed on the 2010 ballot. Positions for the 2010
Board of Directors are now open. See the web site under 2010 Election.
The Board approved keeping the 2010 dues the same low $60.00
fee as this year. A
new membership form will be sent out with the
ballots in Nov. The Club has started a discussion on a new
set of Range Rules.
8/30/2009: Don't Forget, Business/Board Meeting is this Tuesday
September 8/21/2009 Suggestions - This is a new site and
we need advice like is the type font to small. You 8/21/2009 Range Officers - Please listen to
the advice of the Range Officers, they are non paid 8/20/2009 Front Gate - After you open the
front gate secure it by hooking the chain over the 8/18/2009 Thanks to a
suggestion from Steve McLaughlin I changed some pages so when you 8/18/2009 A new Club web site is now up
and running. The site is not
complete but when it is
1st at 6:30 pm at the range house. All members are invited and encouraged to
attend.
If there are any suggestions that you want to make, the meeting is the place
to do it. See You All There!!!

If your screen
skips showing only one word on the next line please advise us. If you have a
hard time reading
go to the bottom right of you computer screen and click on the 100% button, it
will increase the
size up to 400%. Due to virus problems we will not use the newsletter to go to
link to unknown
sites. hl
members of the club who give their time for the safety of the shooters and
spectators. On
Sat. and Sun. we have open shooting and some of the shooters Do Not have any
safety
training or even common sense. It is the responsibility of all shooters to tell
another
shooter if they see a safety violation. The person they shoot might be you! hl
hook on the post. We had to buy a new gate last year because the wind blew the
gate into a
vehicle. Secure the gate behind you unless it is to be left open for a match.
Members should
all have the combination. Do Not leave the pad lock in a unlocked position
because it will
show the combination. After locking the lock turn the tumblers more than one
number.
The small chain is to prevent damage and loss of the lock
not for securing the gate. If you
find the gate unlocked Do Not lock it unless you check all the ranges to be sure
no one is
on the facility like the police range or construction workers. hl

site that takes you to another site, the page will open in a new window. This will allow
the user to click on the new window while keeping open the original web page. You can then close
this page and our site
will still be open. This will only be done on sites to remote locations because
they do not have a back button. hl aka webmaster
finished is will be kept very simple so it comes up fast. Sites with a lot of
animated icons and
music my be nice to look at the first couple of times but they make the pages
to slow. We will
be using a lot of links from other members sites, so the information can be up to date without
waiting for
